Statistics Workshop: Analysing Cluster Randomised Trials (14-15 May 2009)

This two-day Statistics Workshop (14-15 May 2009), being run by the Centre for Effective Education, will be led by Professor Martin Bland from the University of York. The Workshop will provide participants with knowledge of the special problems which arise in the design and analysis of cluster randomised trials. No previous knowledge of cluster randomised trials is required, but some knowledge of trial design and analysis in general would be necessary. Seminar: The UNCRC at 20 – A Multidisciplinary Approach (7 May 2009)

This one-day seminar is being co-hosted by the Research Forum for the Child and the Human Rights Centre at the School of Law.  It will feature presentations by UN experts, as well as international and Northern Ireland-based academics and professionals working on children’s rights issues.  Participants will include Afsane Bassir Pour (Director, Regional UN Information Centre, Brussels), Ursula Kilkelly (UCC), Alex Tennant (NICCY) and Laura Lundy (QUB). Speakers will focus on issues ranging from the development of children’s rights indicators and children's rights-based research methods to topics such as the legal contribution of the CRC and transitional justice and children’s rights.

The aim of the seminar is to provide a space within which researchers working on children’s rights in different contexts can interact and share information and experiences.  It promises to be an exciting, interdisciplinary event and all are very welcome.  Lunch will be provided. Further information (including the event programme) is available on the Research Forum for the Child’s website.

We would be grateful if those interested in attending could RSVP to Deaglan Coyle at: d.p.coyle@qub.ac.uk for catering purposes.
