Mark is the research fellow for epidemiological and evaluation research with Improving Children’s Lives. He also holds a post as research statistician with the Institute of Child Care Research at Queen’s University.

Mark studied for his PhD in the Centre for Public Health at Queen’s, his research while at the CPH looked at mortality and admission rates to care homes for older people using a large population based study. During his studies he undertook extensive training in epidemiological methods and statistical modelling.

Mark is currently working on linking administrative datasets, such as health and education records, to perform epidemiological studies looking at the lives of children in Northern Ireland. The aims of these studies will be to uncover the factors relating to physical, emotion and social well being of children.
